Your Couch Is Denying You Comfort

Your couch is a thief. It steals ambition, hope, willingness, and time. Fear is a great motivator and a great stagnator. It’s the perfect time to do whatever it is right now. Stop waiting for the right time, it’s here! The only reason you are not doing it now is fear. But it is never too late. It’s only too late if you never do it. Suppose you never even try to do it. There is nothing wrong with you, nothing at all except doubt has gotten hold of you like a freaking barnacle. Your life is so much more than what it is right now. If the thought of doing something scares you, then DO IT! Whatever you are doing, stop doing it. Whatever you are not doing, start doing it. Things change so fast. You are not the same person you were yesterday, this morning, or even 5 minutes ago; you are better or worse, depending on what you do about it. Do nothing and stay the same. Do something, anything, and gain the needed part of you. Force yourself, if necessary, but do it. Get off the couch, brush the Cheetos crumbs off your chest, shower, and brush your teeth. Put on clean clothes this week. Do that pile of smelly laundry. Get something to eat and go outside. Go outside and take a walk down to the corner and back. Do this for yourself, okay? Nothing will change if you don’t change anything. Stop believing the voices, the doubt, and the comparisons. If you must compare yourself, compare yourself to yourself. No one else. You don’t know how they got to where they are. If you must compare, compare today to last week. Are you better, stronger, more compassionate? You can and you will change. Just try. Don’t sit there anymore without caring about you, okay? Please don’t. So much is happening, and you should be doing some of it. Create your narrative. I know you can do it. I am positive you can do it. Take the first step now, right now. When you go outside, don’t wear headphones or earbuds; look and listen to the stimuli of the world around you. Notice things that are out there. And pray. It doesn’t matter if you believe in prayer, pray anyway. Pray for a better you, someone who can forgive, be positive, and be caring.  Someone who is a better person to themselves. Just pray. It doesn’t matter if you believe, pray. The only reason it will ever be too late is if you don’t try. Improve one thing daily. Small steps start the longest journey, bringing you from where you are, to where you want to be. It’s barnacle scrapping time. Ready, set, Let’s GO!
